The Making of Motorcity Online video

Post by texis » Tue May 16, 2006 10:31 am

A few years back I saw an interesting video online of how EA Studios created alot of the sounds for MCO. The sound engineers actually went to a junkyard and began to obtain sounds by smashing car windows and simulating crashes by dropping cars off forklifts, stuff like that. Then they showed how they recorded the exhaust note of different muscle cars to give a realistic feel to the way cars sat at idle and WOT in MCO. I've searched around for this video but can't find it anymore. Would anyone happen to have a link for it please?

Regards,

Tex

I think the MCO disk he is referring to, was the one you got if you preordered MCO. EA sent a disc with all the songs and a few vids of how they made stuff in the game. Shoot me your address via PM Tex and I'll send you a copy.

I didn't seem to miss it so much lately, cause it's been gone so long now. After seeing some of Hideaway's video's and hearing the cars roar past........now I am really missing it again also. :banghead:

I'm with Woody on this one, There hasn't been a day go buy since 8-29-03, that I HAVEN'T missed MCO!

You can go online, spend a COUPLE of hours, and wonder where the time went, happens really fast!

I agreed with Woody also. I didn't say I haven't missed it everyday since 8-29-03. I meant it doesn't hurt as bad as time goes on. :smt064

I guess I should of said "I didn't seem to miss it as much as I used too". :smt030
