HeHe... It is poll flooding time again! AGAIN..5/26/10

Post by ZER » Thu Dec 04, 2008 5:58 pm

EA has recently put up another poll asking "What's your favorite NFS ever?", and they made the mistake again of including MCO in it as well! :smt033

So, let's all do our part and make MCO #1 again! Since they didn't learn that the last time!

Need for Speed in Trouble? [December 13, 2008, 2:13 pm ET] - Share - 10 Comments

The Electric Playground reports learning that Electronic Arts has cancelled development of future projects in the Need for Speed series due to declining sales and declining critical reception for the street racing series. They offer no hints about the source of this news and admit they've received no official confirmation of this from EA. This report is picked up on 1Up, where they offer a quote from the EP story that we cannot actually find there, attributing the following noncommittal statement to EA's Colin Macrae: "We're working through a process on people, products, and facilities at EA and don't have any announcements today." Thanks Mike Martinez.

EA Closing Need for Speed, Skate Dev. Black Box, 'At Least' Eight Others
by Chris Faylor Dec 19, 2008 9:53am CST tags: Electronic Arts, EA Black Box
Electronic Arts has revealed that it will be closing "at least" nine facilities as part of its restructuring plan, including Need for Speed and Skate developer Black Box.

With Black Box closed, EA will relocate the studio's development teams and "associated game franchises" to a nearby office in Burnaby, British Columbia. The other "studio and publishing locations" facing closure were not named in the announcement.

Overall, EA will axe around 1,000 employees, roughly 10% of its global workforce. Previously, the publisher said it would cut 6% of its employees under the plan. The majority of these actions are planned to occur before March 31, 2009.

EA expects the plan will "result in annual cost savings of approximately $120 million," along with restructuring charges of around $55-65 million over the coming quarters.

The publisher also declared a newfound focus on "hit games with higher margin opportunities," following word that it will be canceling several unspecified games. However, the company stressed that it is still "committed to taking creative risks."

Black Box recently released the critical failure Need for Speed: Undercover and aided in the creation of Skate It for Wii and Nintendo DS. Skate 2, presumed to be the team's last Black Box

Thanks for voting everyone!

I got a kick out of the results! MCO being #1 of course, but more or less this made me laugh my arse off!
