Anyone!?!? Re-Creating Servers?

Is it at all possible for anyone to re create the servers by debugging using C++ or something like that. I have lots of development tools but im not sure how to change some of the IP's its looking for. Also does anyone know where I can find a decompiler or disassembler. Any input would be appreciated. I have some freinds that are good with comps too and between us I think we have the tools and the skills if its at all possible. Thanks again I hope you guys can help and I'm not just crazy thinking this can be done.

in reg edit it says that it uses downloads.mco.ea.com for patch server ip

we can change this in reg edit if we need to know what to have on the server

does this make any sence?

Yeah, I haven't looked at that yet. What I am thinking is would it be at all possible to open MCO in C++ and debug it and try to see what its looking for and recreate it. If we could slowly get some of it running again it would then be a matter of rebuilding the databases. I'm not sure if its possible but its worth a try. I have lots of programming software and if there is something I need im sure i can get it. If anyone has any info on MCO's assembly let me know, or if you have any ideas on disassembling decompiling or database reconstruction let me know. I will see if i can get it looking at a different IP for patching that will be a start at least. Thanks again.

me and mrmaxx talked alot about it and it looks good on paper but not on the screen. the computer screen that is. if we just had ea's server thats all we would need.

if we can figure out the database of there servers we can do it, then all we need is servers and that is easy, about 20 grand...

We dont need to worry about funding servers yet. We just need to get the databases working. I have two computers so I can use one as a test server to connect too. So we just need to get IP's switched and start finding out what the game is looking for on that server. One other quick Q. Where do i change the IP it connects to for updates.

alright i got it past the initial connect on the patch server. Now its to an NPSPatch server that is where it gets the actual updates. so now i need to make pretend updates or give it a no update needed sorta thing

I have made it up to the login screen and when i click continue on the login screen it tries to connect to 24.149.222:40 I need to find where this is stored so i can change it. If anyone could help search the registry and anywhere else this data could be that would be cool. Im doing everything i can to get back into the game.

If my memory serves me right this is what i changed

PatchServerIP- to my IP
PatchServerPort- a port i knew i had access too, i used 24 cause it was the first number i thought of
NPSPatch- i deleted the data (i think)

shardURL- Again my IP
AuthLoginServer-again my IP

i also changed the stuff in mco_log.txt i dont remember the exact stuff though i would have to look back at my backup copies

if i find anything else i changed i will post it here later i gotta head out soon for training

Hey guys,,
I was looking at all this and perhaps you are coming at this from the wrong direction.

I keep seeing wishes for MCO servers to host the database but if you remember, we HAVE the database on our game files.

What about having the registry look at the db on the local machine instead of trying to load a server?

thats a good idea but mco is motor city ONLINE. it all run off of a server and im not sure if offline would be that easy. we could take the local db on our computer and put it on a server :D worth a try?
