break down of torrents....

a torrent is sort of a link to a file on your HD.

someone hosts a torrent and allows other people to download but they can only download this file as long as you are hosting it. this is called seeding.

the people that are downloading the file/files, are called leechers. once there download completes, they are EXPECTED to also seed.

the more seeds the faster your transfers are. basically its kinda like teamwork.

download rates can be good or be horrible. its kinda iffy sometimes. i use it all the time.

you need to use a bit torrent program. theres tons of different ones that you can use. there is one called "bit torrent" and it is the original. its what started it all. it is very basic but still gets the job done.

regular bit torrent:
http://bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/download.html

i use one called "bit tornado" and have had great success with it. heres the link to it:
http://bittornado.com/

there is many others and you can find them on google if you need to.

now, if your behind a firewall, you will need to open some ports in order to get high speed downloads. post back here if you need help with that.

one other note, when you go to open whatever bit torrent client that you choose, it will ask for a torrent link, then you select your torrent and then it will ask for a place to save the download.

post back if you have any problems.

If the game were still available for sale in a retail store, I'd run out and buy it... however, it's not. I could do Ebay, but aren't they all Taiwan or something like that? Expensive shipping. No one is losing money on the game anymore, all the "new" copies are sold, so I don't see the harm in this circumstance.

I'll try again tonight, maybe it just wasn't seeded.

I am clicking the one for F1Challenge9902.iso, I get an error that says, "Bit Torrent was passed a file name that doesn't exist. Either clear your temporary internet files or right click and download the .torrent to disk first.

If I right click, I get a file that is only a few K large...

-edit, Nevermind... I didn't realize I had to click the .torrent to start the download. ;)
