So the Thunderbird has an open rear, not liking the one wheel spinning on the melting snow.

What are the pros/cons of putting a traclok rear in the car? It's a 3.27 ratio now, I'm planning on keeping the ratio the same to keep my mileage constant, but I want to know specifically how much different the traclok will be in things like snow. My trans am had posi, and I'm comfortable with it in rain/etc. Will snow/ice conditions equipped with good snow tires be an issue?

I prefer it. When you spin the back end will kick to the right. Still better than open.

Snow tires and weight in the trunk, posi doesn't help much in the snow.

+1 on that. Load up the trunk.

We would always use about 4 of them. Try 2 and see what it feels like. You can always add more if you need to.

I never added weight to the Firebird in winter, just good snows on all four corners. I used Blizzaks and loved em.
