1) I read Ben's thread on the RV and he was talking about loosing power sometimes. I have noticed that too on the VW beetle but not very often. It happens seldom and only on the highway when cruising at about 60-70mph. The car will just loose power and start to decelerate. I let my foot off the gas for a few seconds and it rights itself. This is happening on a 2000 VW beetle. It's a 2.0 liter 4 cylendar. Perhaps it's as simple as a dirty air filter (of which I have not checked recently, but plan to this weekend), a fuel line blockage or gunk in the gas tank perhaps?

Any ideas?

2) For someone with pretty limited hands on experience how difficult of a job is to replace the rear hub bearings and seals on a 2001 Landrover SD? It seems when the U Joint was being replaced the tech noticed some bearing grease on the inside of the right rear tire. I do not feel like shelling out the cash for this one right now.

I suspect highspeed misfires, run a scanner on it and I would bet its the same cylinder each time, sound like a bad injector or two to me.Seen that a few times and cleaning the injectors never did squat, replace them, check the plugs etc all first of course but in my experience it ended up being the injectors
Any ideas?

No offense to the tech but are you sure the bearings are going? You can hear them when they're bound for junk yard status. The job its self is pretty straightforward, not sure if those are pressed in or not but you can get them removed and pressed in and just do the rest yourself easily enough. I'd check them out to make sure its even bad in the first place.
